Alligator uses crosswalk at state park in South Carolina
MURRELLS INLET, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – You've heard of chickens crossing the road, but what about an alligator crossing the causeway?
A South Carolina man caught video of an alligator doing just that at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet Monday.
The alligator didn't wander off course, in fact, the reptile stayed well within the pedestrian crosswalk. A car stopped to let the gator pass, which was probably for the best.
An estimated 5 million American alligators are spread out across the southeastern United States. Alligators occur in Florida, southern Texas, Louisiana and parts of North and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama.
