AdventHealth CEO Terry Shaw retiring in 2025
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. - AdventHealth President and CEO Terry Shaw has announced his retirement after 40 years with the Florida-based hospital and health system. He will officially retire in July 2025, a news release said.
"When I joined AdventHealth over 40 years ago, I never imagined the profound joy, challenges and sense of purpose this career would bring. Our mission of providing whole-person care as a faith-based organization has always been more than just a brand promise—it has been the core of everything we do," he said in a news release.
"Leading this incredible organization has been the honor of my lifetime. My decision to retire clears the path for the very capable next generation of AdventHealth leaders and I am fully confident in the ability of these leaders to continue our legacy of success."
Shaw also shared the news in a video message on his LinkedIn profile. He will continue to have an "active role" with the AdventHealth Board, a news release said.
The hospital did not name Shaw's successor, but said it had a "long-term succession plan in place" to select an "internal successor" in April 2025.
