ORLANDO, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - There's a new adorable addition to the royal family at Disney World---a pony named Lilly!
Lilly is the newest 'Cinderella Pony' at Walt Disney World Resort.
According to Disney Parks Blog, "Lilly, named after Walt Disney’s wife, was born in March and became the first white Shetland pony ever born at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground."
Lilly's mom, "Lady" and her father "Ferdinand" are both Shetland Ponies that pull Cinderella's pumpkin carriage during the parades at Magic Kingdom and for Disney's Fairytale Weddings. When Lilly turns 2, she'll be following in her parents 'hoof-steps,' training to pull Cinderella's coach. After a year, she'll make her debut as an official part of the team.
For now, guests can see Lilly in the show pasture near the barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
"A team of 35 ranch hands care for Lilly and 90 other horses and ponies that support our daily operation of carriage, wagon, pony and trail rides, along with special events that add that special sparkle across the Walt Disney World Resort."
