What we know:

Customers can visit any participating 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes store nationwide on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, to score a free small Slurpee drink. The offer is limited to one per customer.

What they're saying:

"January can feel like the longest month of the year to many, which is why 7-Eleven, Inc. is here to give everyone a sweet treat to celebrate its end," the chain said in an announcement – adding that "everyone could use a refreshing pick-me-up after a long winter month."

Dig deeper:

7-Eleven cited a 2024 poll by American Psychiatric Association which found that 41% of Americans feel their mood dips in the colder winter months, compared to 22% who say it improves. The same research also found that more women (45%) than men (37%) say their mood declined in the winter, and the Midwest was the U.S. region most impacted by winter in the survey.
