6-year-old boy injured in dog attack in Deltona, according to Volusia County Sheriff’s Office
ORLANDO, Fla. - A 6-year-old boy was injured in a dog attack late Monday morning at a home on Anderson Street, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
The child sustained bite wounds to his head and leg during the attack, which occurred around 11:20 a.m.
Despite his injuries, officials said the boy was conscious, alert, and talking when emergency responders arrived.
Volusia County’s Air One helicopter transported the boy to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando for treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the attack and the breed of the dog were not disclosed.
Authorities have not provided additional details about the incident as the investigation continues.
