Four men have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery, one of which was involved in a 12-hour standoff with police in Deland.

Police say around 4:20 a.m., two loud flash bangs were heard, which Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said were the end of the standoff with 19-year-old Cameron Brown.

Brown was taken into custody.

The sheriff tells Fox 35 the the suspect had threatened to shoot law enforcement and then himself.

"We had our bomb squad, we had robots we had negotiators, we had our SWAT team we had everybody here," said Sheriff Chitwood. "The objective was to end this as peaceably as possible and give the bad guy a chance to end this peaceably and tonight it worked out just that way."

The Sheriff says Brown, his brother, 23-year-old Codey Brown, 22-year-old Ryan Mackey and 16-year-old Eric Lutz, are accused of robbing a couple Monday afternoon at the Intermodal Bus Transit facility on South Woodland Blvd.

According to investigators, Cameron Brown implied that he had a gun and threatned to shoot the couple. The four males took off with the couples backpack.

Deputies say they tracked the suspects down to a home on Fatio Road. When they attempted to tow the getaway vehicle, they say three of the men came outside but Cameron Brown stayed inside and threatened police if they came inside.

After obtaining an arrest and search warrant, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office SWAT team and DeLand Police entered the home and were able to find Cameron Brown hiding in a crawl space, according to a press release.

Nearby homes were evacuated during the standoff, but officials say those people have been allowed to return home.

Authorities say they also found marijuana and other contraband in the residence.

Cameron Brown is charged with armed robbery while the other three men are charged with principle to armed robbery.
