Woman dead, child injured badly in Orlando hit-and-run

ORLANDO, Fla. - A woman has died, and a child remains in critical condition after they were hit by a car while across an Orlando road Saturday night, FHP said. 

The woman and child reportedly walked into the path of a white Infinity that was traveling eastbound on State Road 50. 

The infinity struck both the child and the woman. The woman was hit a second time by another car moments after the first crash. 

She was taken to Orlando Health Central Hospital and died upon arrival. The child was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital and is in critical condition, FHP said. 

The driver of the second car fled the scene and was last seen traveling eastbound on SR-50. The car is described as a dark color sedan. 

The crash remains under investigation.
