2 found dead inside Orlando home in Colonialtown North neighborhood, police say

Orlando police officers were called to a home on Floral Dr. early Tuesday evening. Investigators said two people were found dead inside the residence in Orlando's Colonialtown North neighborhood.

Orlando police officers were called to a home on Floral Drive for a well-being check early Tuesday evening.

Investigators said they found a man and a woman dead inside the residence in Orlando's Colonialtown North neighborhood, just about a block west of N. Bumby Avenue.

In an update Wednesday morning, the Orlando Police Department said the two were found dead with gunshot wounds in an apparent murder-suicide. Officers identified the suspect as 74-year-old Franco Cianfrano, and the victim as Linda Prater-Cianfrano, 71.

Police said a gun was found at the scene. A medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.

Homicide detectives were still at the home just before 11 p.m. Tuesday along with crime scene technicians. Word of the deaths troubled neighbors who live nearby.

"I was surprised. I was surprised to see all the cops. I was surprised to find our there were two dead bodies in there," said William Moylan. "That freaks me out, definitely does! I’ve never heard the police pull up or anything."
