Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating after a Florida Highway Patrol trooper shot and killed someone in the emergency room of HCA Hospital in Ocala. No officers, no hospital staff, and no other patients besides the suspect were hurt.
OCALA, Fla. - One person is dead following an incident with a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) trooper at an Ocala hospital early Friday morning, according to police.
What we know:
At around 2:51 a.m., officers with the Ocala Police Department responded to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital located on SE 1st Avenue after a detail officer requested help.
Authorities said a trooper was involved in a fight with a suspect in custody which resulted in FHP using deadly force.
What we don't know:
FOX 35 News is working to learn about the circumstances that led up to the fight and the identity of the suspect killed.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating, which is standard protocol in officer-involved shootings.
