1 critically injured in Orange County house fire, officials say

One person is seriously injured after a fire broke out at a home in Orange County Monday morning, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters responded to the home on Calloway Drive near Elba Way to find half of the residence engulfed in flames, with reports of people trapped inside, officials said.

One person was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, Orange County Fire Rescue shared on X (formerly Twitter.)

Firefighters extinguished the fire and will remain on-site to monitor for potential hot spots, authorities said. 

No further details were immediately released. 

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze.
