If you happened to see some strange lights in the sky on Friday evening after chugging a green beer for St. Patrick's Day, it wasn't your imagination. You may have witnessed the launch of a pair of communications satellites from Florida's Space Coast by SpaceX.
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - If you happened to see some strange lights in the sky on Friday evening after chugging a green beer for St. Patrick's Day, it wasn't your imagination. You may have witnessed the launch of a pair of communications satellites from Florida's Space Coast by SpaceX.
The space company sent the SES-18 and SES-19 missions into orbit atop a Falcon 9 rocket around 7:38 p.m. from Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Those satellites manufactured by a company from Luxembourg will provide TV and data services over the U.S.
At approximately nine minutes after liftoff, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the Just Read the Instructions droneship stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
