COCOA, Fla. - Orchid Lake, a new affordable housing community in Brevard County, celebrated its grand opening on Friday.
The apartment complex, located at the corner of University Lane and Michigan Avenue in Cocoa, offers monthly rent ranging from as low as $228 to $1,107, officials said.
The community features a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, with sizes ranging from 802 to 1,137 square feet.
Residents can enjoy amenities such as a clubhouse, fitness center, community splash pad, playground, outdoor BBQ area, and media room.
"We're very excited to complete another development of a much needed affordable housing," Jordan Tolman, CEO of Housing Trust Group — one of the developers behind the $30 million project — told FOX 35 News. "And this is a gorgeous project that's going to be wonderful for the community."
The complex is designed for residents who earn at or below 22, 33, and 60 percent of the area median income.
