Man stabbed during fight at DeLand home, police say

DELAND, Fla. - A man is recovering after being stabbed during a fight at a DeLand home on Tuesday night, authorities said. 

Shortly before 8:30 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing incident after a man drove himself to a Sonny's BBQ restaurant on N. Woodland Boulevard with stab wounds, according to the DeLand Police Department.

The man was subsequently taken to the hospital by ambulance and is being treated for non-life-threathening injuries. 

An investigation revealed that the stabbing happened after a dispute at a home located about 2.5 miles away on S. Garfield Avenue, involving two individuals who knew each other. 

Additional details regarding the circumstances that led to the fight, as well as information about whether a suspect has been taken into custody, were not immediately released.
