Jamie Foxx reveals what caused mysterious health scare in Netflix special

Jamie Foxx has finally revealed what sent him "to hell and back" when he had a medical scare in April of last year.
In his new Netflix special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was…, the actor and comedian told his Atlanta audience about his near-death experience and his "come-back-to-God" moment.
"You have no idea how good this feels," he said after being introduced by his daughter, Corinne Fox.
"Atlanta, I’m back!" he shouted with tears in his eyes. "I was fighting for my life, but I’m here in front of you."
What happened to Jamie Foxx?
In April 2023, the Grammy Award winner, whose full name is Eric Marlon Bishop, was filming "Back in Action" with Cameron Diaz in Atlanta when Foxx suffered what his daughter called a "medical complication."
Foxx and his family never shared what exactly that complication was, only that he was on the road to recovery.

In an Instagram video Foxx shared with fans in July 2023, he thanked his fans for their support and told them he’d been to "hell and back." Still, he never said what brought him there, but credited his family with saving his life.
"They protected me, and that’s what I hope everyone can have in moments like these," he said.
A year later, in June 2024, Foxx addressed a group of people outside the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Phoenix and said his health scare began with a headache.
"Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil. [Snaps fingers] I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything," Foxx said.
In his latest Netflix special, Foxx said he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke. He had 11 projects in the works when it happened, according to IMBD.
"The internet tried to kill me, though," he said in the special, a reference to the headlines and internet speculation over his illness. "They said I was paralyzed. They said I couldn’t walk. Well, look at me now," he said, dancing to Unk’s "Walk it Out."
