Police: Suspect enters home, holds homeowner at gunpoint while demanding car keys

A robbery suspect was apprehended after authorities said he walked into a man's home and demanded the keys to his car.

Altamonte Springs Police say it started out when the suspect, 21-year-old Brandon William Michael Houston, walked into a Walmart at 200 S State Road 434 and shoplifted.   They said Houston ran to a nearby home... Walked through the front door and pointed a gun at the homeowner while asking for his car.

"I'm not in any danger right now, but someone just walked in and demanded my car keys at gunpoint, so I'm safe now," the homeowner told a 911 operator.

Police said Houston got away in the homeowner's Kia. Dashboard camera video from a patrol car captured the pursuit.  Eventually, they were able to take Houston down, handcuffing him on the ground.  Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Houston was transported to the Orange County Jail, charged with armed robbery, home invasion robbery with a firearm, and grand theft of a motor vehicle.
