Man arrested after stealing AR-15 and ammunition

A man has been arrested after attempting to steal an AR-15.

The Rockledge Police Department says that Justin Latavias Dunham committed strong armed robbery, theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

They say the victim advised that he posted his firearm on FloridaGunTrader.com  and that he was contacted by an individual who wanted to purchase it. The victim said that the firearm was an AR-15 with 700 rounds of ammunition and accessories. He wanted to sell it for $1,300.

While engaged in the sale of the firearm, paired with ammunition and accessories, from the victim's trunk, police say that Dunham took the firearm with the ammunition and accessories. After pushing the victim to the ground, he fled from the area in a getaway vehicle without paying. The vehicle was driven by an unknown black male.

Dunham was reportedly arrested on Monday night.

Dunham's criminal history is said to include, but is not limited to, robbery with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a Florida delinquent.
